Well, after almost 10 years of wanting to create a MAME cabinet, this little thingy gave me the motivation I needed to start the project.
Since I'm having no luck with finding a real cabinet, in acceptable condition, I decided to go with the SCART TV way. As some of you may have heard, european TVs with SCART, can bypass the PAL/NTSC encodings, and function exactly like a real arcade monitor. Both regarding the real, low res progressive resolutions and the odd refresh rates some games have.
I suck at soldering so I was hesitating for years, but now that this baby is out, I ordered it right away. The only thing to do now is to wait for the mailman to deliver it, in the next few days. I will review its ass off as soon as it arrives, but for now, check this:http://scarthunter.blogspot.com.au/2012/06/umsa-ultimate-scart-adapter-review.html
