About Me Print E-mail

My name is George. It all started in 1987, on a snowy March 5th, in Patras, Greece.

My parents tried to raise me like the average child, but their efforts always failed miserably. Not because of them, but because I simply was different, or better, according to my opinion.

Since i little boy I constantly demonstrated my excessive deposits of irony, laziness, sarcasm, love for technology and music.

Having a manically obsessed with classical music mom, I voluntarily started violin studies. After 12 boring years I got my degree on violin and most of the music theories. But long before that, I had fell in love with a variety of electronic sounds. Starting with "uncategorized" electro sounds like Prodigy, it evolved and rapidly became a passion for the cheesy progressive trance and house sounds of the early 00's era.

That passion in conjuction with my admiration for the whole "nightlife" lifestyle thingy, pushed me on pursuing DJing as a profession. Starting as a hobby and with no equipment at all, i got my first job at 2004, without previously doing any gigs or parties. This was a terrific success, but when the hobby became a reliable source of money, I realized that probably I would never get to play the music I wanted to play at the time.

Realizing I'm simply a person that helps bar owners sell more alcohol was a definitive turning point on my "career".  This change of philosophy gave me constant, steady, 6-night- a-week jobs, with good earnings, and made me despise almost any music. But it probably was a fair price since I got really good somewhere along the way Tongue out

My other activities are mostly related to computers.

On 2005, a friend gave me a used Qtek S100, and I immediately fell in love with the Windows Mobile operating system. Since then I've been experimenting with many Windows Mobile devices, and also developing small applications and solutions for Windows Mobile. Those applications and solutions were available mostly to a small closed circle.

But time passes, and while I must admit I had some great times with Windows Mobile, I now moved to Android, since Windows Mobile is officially dead, and Windows Phone is not something I'm interested in.

I also semi-professionally create web sites for miscellaneous customers, off course I'm not a real coder or designer, but thanks to the technological "stupidity" of most Greeks, I manage to get jobs, and be much better than my competition, even the ones that are supposed to be professionals, although I'm still not a real coderLaughing

My main computer related work activity is providing IT support and solutions for radio stations and their related activities. Nowadays I'm also working as a designer, and all around IT guy for an advertising company, which is a nice change of scenery.

While even I don't really understand the purpose of this site, I suppose you 'll find some interesting stuff mostly related to technology and computers.
